At home, please have your child practice addition and subtraction facts at least 2 nights per week (as outlined in the homework letter). Fluency with math facts makes a HUGE difference to math performance, and it builds number sense as well.
We've also been talking about what good readers do to help themselves understand what they read.
- They choose just right books.
- They THINK about what they are reading.
- They visualize what they read (make mind movies).
- They ask questions as they read to be sure they're comprehending.
